About POGAR - Acknowledgements

The website was conceived and is coordinated by Dr. Elizabeth Bouri, who is Consultant on Knowledge Management to the Programme on Governance in the Arab Region (POGAR), a project launched by the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) in early 2000. The Regional Coordinator of UNDP-POGAR is Adel Abdellatif.

Bouri surveyed and compiled the resources on governance and supervised development of a website prototype by arachnea.com. A team of researchers, Betigul Ercan Argun, Sunila Kale, Peter Lyon, and Jacob Weigler drafted the thematic and country articles under the supervision of Clement M. Henry, Professor of Government at the University of Texas at Austin. Abed Khooli is the Webmaster responsible for technical maintenance of the site.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is the UN executing agency for POGAR.
