About POGAR - Collaborating Institutions

Arab National and Regional

* Arab Center for Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession (ACIJLP)
ACIJLP is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the independence of the judiciary and legal profession in the region. The organization is located in Cairo, Egypt.

* Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (Arab-IPU)

Arab-UPI, based in Damascus, Syria, is the organization of Arab Parliaments and includes 22 Arab countries.

* Arab Lawyers Union (ALU) ALU, based in Cairo, Egypt, includes twenty-four national bar associations of Arab countries and its membership contains more than four hundred thousand Arab lawyers based in 21 Arab countries.

* The Center for Research and Training on Development (CRTD)

CRTD is a regional Non-Governmental Organization that is based in Beirut. CRTD works in Lebanon and the Arab world, mostly in Yemen, Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria, to advance the issues of Gender equality. CRTD is financially supported by POGAR to undertake part of its activities under the gender/citizenship initiative.

* The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS)

LCPS is an independent, non-profit research institute based in Beirut. It is concerned with issues of political, social, and economic development. LCPS publishes studies and organizes conferences that analyze and aim to improve public policy. It also publishes extensive materials online to increase public awareness of critical policy issues.

PARC conducts studies and research in the field of public policy analysis, including re-structuring and re-engineering, and presenting overall support in solving managerial problems.
