Reform and the Role of Civil Society Organizations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region
Beirut - Lebanon, 5  September, 2004.
Organized by: United Nations Development Programme - Programme on Governance in the Arab Region (UNDP-POGAR) - the Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA), in cooperation with the Economic Research Forum (ERF) and the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS).
A one-day regional workshop that discussed the Arab reform initiatives, the international reform projects, and the role of civil society organization in the reform process.

The statement was issued at the conclusion of a one-day regional workshop, �Reform and the Role of Civil Society Organizations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region� that was held in Beirut, September 5, 2004. The statement was later presented at the �Forum for the Future� a preparatory meeting of Foreign Ministers from the G-8 and MENA countries, held in New York on September 24, 2004.
