* Parliament and the Process of Reform: The Arab Mashreq and Italian Experiences

Organized by: United Nations Development Programme - Programme on Governance in the Arab Region (UNDP-POGAR) in collaboration with the Lebanese Parliament and the IPALMO
The seminar forms part of the project “Building Capacities of Parliamentary Institutions and Promotion of Citizen’s Participation in the Arab countries and Middle East” that aims at strengthening the capacities of the parliaments of Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan.
Twelve members of parliament (MPs) from each of Lebanon and Iraq and six MPs from Jordan participated in the seminar on behalf of their parliaments in addition to experts, researchers, civil society representatives and other interested sides from the region and from Italy.
Preliminary results of national studies commissioned to researchers in each of the participating countries on the experiences of Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon were presented during the seminar.
